Match Report - Brynithel v Hafodyrynys

Hafodyrynys made the short journey to near neighbours Brynithel for their league clash, after a 3 week lay off any thoughts off The Rams being rusty were soon dispelled with The Hafod making a strong start with good ball being won at
the lineout by 2nd row Daniel Crandon and The Rams scrum dominating The Brynithel 8.It came as a bit of a shock to the large Hafodyrynys travelling supporters when Brynithel were first on the scoreboard with a penalty before The Hafod scored their first try.
The try came from a catch and drive  and then a blind side break from scrum half Mark Perrett which set up a ruck close to the Brynithel line and prop Richard Martin crashed over for the try, Rob Smith adding the conversion.  The Hafod's 2nd try came after a great break from outside half Rob Smith who sliced thru the defence and then fed centre Jeremy Parsons who crossed under the posts, Rob Smith added the extras.  Any thoughts The Hafod had of making the game safe before
half time were soon dashed by Brynithel's strong defence and even a thundering run by prop Huw Morgan with even a hint of a dummy couldn't unlock the defence and Brynithel finished the scoring in the first half with a penalty. Half time 14-6
Daffyd Jones replaced Daniel Crandon and carried on his good work, securing good line ball and carrying strongly The Rams started the 2nd half strongly with No 8 Kyle Griffiths carrying strongly and it was the No8 who scored The Hafod's 3rd try after a period of pressure on The Brynithel's line, he picked up from a 5 metre scrum and barged over for the touchdown, Rob Smith added the conversion 21-6
The Hafod started to give the ball some air and were unfortunate when after Wayne Saunders playing at wing forward, ran the ball back and Rob Smith's cross kick was caught by Jeremy Parsons but the pass to wing Erwin Tejam was ajudged forward.  The deserved bonus point was achieved when after the ball was moved from side to side in the Brynithel 22 before a delicate chip by centre Curtis Harris was touched down by Kyle Griffiths for his 2nd try of the game 26-6
The Rams put the icing on the cake with 2 superb length of the field tries with Jeremy Parsons making the break from his own 22 before feeding wing Erwin Tejam who raced in from halfway to score in the corner.  Straight from the kickoff, Jeremy Parsons again broke from his own 22 and this time after feeding Erwin Tejam, was there up in support to receive the inside pass to score.  Final score 36-6
