Hafodyrynys travelled to Rogerstone on a lovely day  more suited to the cricket match going on at an adjoining pitch
The Rams were hit my loss to injury of last weeks hat trick hero Rob Smith,Jeremy Parsons moving to the outside half position.
The Hafod started the game strongly and were soon in front with 2 penalties from scrum half Josh Morgan, with a dominant scrum and good lineout possession The Rams looked to attack from all areas but Rogerstone's defence kept their line intact and reduced The Hafod's lead with a penalty.
Just before half time No 8 Kyle Griffiths took a quick tap penalty and crashed over for the try,Josh Morgan added the conversion to leave the half time score 13-3
The Rams started the 2nd half on the front foot and increased their lead with another Josh Morgan penalty
The Hafod kept the ball in hand in search of further tries with props Scott Gameson and Huw Morgan carrying strongly, with Morgan showing great hands in taking an inside pass from Jeremy Parsona and setting off on a barnstorming run which was rumoured to have included a dummy pass.
The Rams for all their possession  were unable to finish off numerous attacks and were rocked by a Rogerstone penalty which was quickly followed a try and conversion Score 16-13
The Hafod then scored the vital next try thru young 2nd row Jordan Davies who topped an excellent game with a try,Josh Morgan added the extras 23-13
As Rogerstone chased the game,Jeremy Parsons intercepted a loose pass and raced away and looked certain to score only for the referee to call him back for an infringement but when the situation repeated itself a few minutes later Parsons fed full back Ashley Parfitt who made good ground before being tackled and young 2nd row James Chivers showed great fitness to be up in support to cross for his 1st try for The Rams,Josh Morgan added the conversion for a personal tally of 15 points.
As the game entered its closing stages The Hafod threw everything into attack in the search for the bonus point 4th try with centre Curtis Harris keeping the tempo high by taking a quick lineout to himself and running the ball back at the Rogerstone defence before feeding wing Erwin Tejam who was bundled into touch close to the corner flag,Tejam showed the team spirit which The Hafod are so proud of by carrying on although injured early in the game.
The back row of Greg Simmonds,Gethin Foxwell and Brian Barton were excellent in attack and defence with Barton getting one of the biggest cheers of the day from the large group of Hafod supporters when he put in a great relieving kick when The Rams were under pressure in their 22.
Captain Dai Rossiter who led by example throughout the game asked for one last effort as the game entered injury time for the all important bonus point try but The Rogerstone defence held firm and The Hafod had to settle for a 30-13 win
