Hafodyrynys welcomed near neighbours Crumlin to the Welfare Ground for their eagerly awaited local derby and The Hafod were boosted by the return of outside half Chris Stevens to The Rams colours but were forced to play hooker and captain Dai Rossiter on the flank with his brother Joey Rossiter replacing him in the front row. The first half was tight affair with Crumlin competing strongly up front with scrum half Ashley Giles a thorn in The Hafod's side and it was Crumlin who scored the only try of the first half with a close forward drive, The Rams replied with 3 Josh Morgan penalties.
The Hafod were attempting to play their usual brand of open rugby but in the first half various factors prevented the good possession being turned into tries. As the first half was drawing to a close The Hafod's pack
started to exert pressure on the Crumlin 8 and The Rams were unlucky not to score when after a good run by wing Erwin Tejam, the ball was recycled and outside Chris Stevens put in a great crosskick which just eluded wing Emyr Ackerman with the line beckoning.  Half time 9-5
Whatever was said during the half time break,it certainly worked because The Rams started the 2nd half with a bang with a cracking try,wing Erwin Tejam burst thru the centre in a well worked move and Chris Stevens was up in support to score the try with an old fashioned hand off to fend off the Crumlin defender Crumlin replied with a penalty to leave the score 14-8 Craig Foxwell then capitalised on a misplaced Crumlin pass
as he hacked thru and won the race for the touchdown,Josh Morgan added the extras.21-5 The Hafod's young 2nd row pairing of Jordan Davies and James Chivers were now taking clean lineout possession
and also showing up well in the loose in concert with the excellent wing forward Wayne Saunders Erwin Tejam then scored the try his all round play deserved,the try coming after Crumlin had lost possession
and the ball was passed quickly to give the winger the space to outstrip the covering defence to score in the corner 26-5 The Hafod then brought on their try scoring No8 Kyle Griffiths and he duly obliged with his usual try,picking up from a 5 metre scrum and showing great strength to power over and secure the bonus point try. The Rams scored their final try thru fullback Ashley Parfitt who finished off a long range attack by crossing in the corner Crumlin finished the scoring with a consolation try after a period of pressure on The Hafod's line Final Score 36-13
